Just getting back into reloading amoung other things. I was setting up my reloading kit today and ran into a problem. I just purchased a RCBS rockchucker supreme kit. I set up the press and was about to put the powder measure on the stand when I noticed the plastic hopper was crooked. It is not inserted straight into the metal base. It is flush on one side and out close to 1/4" on the opposite side.
Is it screwed in? (cross threaded if it is) or press fit? or is it glued in? It won't move. The store where I bought it is an hour and a half away. I am going to talk to the guy I bought it from on Monday.
Anybody here know anything about these things? Thanks Ross:mad:

I just checked mine and it appears to glued in , it looks like you need to take it back or contact RCBS and see if they will pay the shipping there and back for a new one.

Just contact them by phone or send them an e-mail with a pic.
They usually send you a replacement and tell you to keep the bad one.
One of my friends once misplaced the beam on his RCBS powder scale so he phoned them to see how he could buy the missing part; the nice lady took his address and a few days later he received a complete scale NO CHARGE with a paper "Compliments of RCBS".
RCBS's consumer back-up is second to none.
PP.

Well I called the store where I bought it and I can bring it back but it will cost me a half day of my time and about $30 worth of gas. I also emailed RCBS but I think it is a holiday today. I may also call them tomorrow. We will see what happens. Cheers

I contacted customer service today and they told me it was a press fit. They told me to put a piece of wood or book on top and try and tap it even. That didn't work, it was too crooked, so I laid it on its side and tapped the hopper with a rubber mallet on the tight side. This got it moving so I ended up taking it right off, cleaning the whole thing up then tapping it back on even. Looks pretty good! RCBS did tell me that if I broke it they would send me another one.

Sadly, reports such as this concerning RCBS gear, are more frequent lately. The company manufactures in China now. They'll no doubt back you up with their excellent warranty, however, warranty service, as good as it is, is hardly acceptable when its so often the very first feature used by a new buyer, before he can produce any ammo! RCBS needs to smarten up! That or just print the return postage on every box.
