RCBS Precision Mic for .308

i had the same problem when i bought mine a little over a month ago so i ended up getting mine from brownells along with a hornady concentricity tool

I have the RCBS Precision Mic for .308 and prefer using the Hornady cartridge case headspace gauge. You can spin the case in the Hornady gauge and get a flat true and centered reading. With the Precision Mic the case is totally encloses and the case can tilt and be off center and give a false reading. Plus the Hornady gauge can be used with any cartridge and when used with a digital vernier caliper it is very easy to read.

Bottom line I was full length resizing some Lake City 7.62 cases for my new .308 Savage last night and getting .002 to .003 errors with the Precision Mic. And with the Hornady gauge one spin of the case centered the case and gave true readings. So think twice before getting the RCBS Precision Mic, my Precision Mic also reads -.003 with a GO gauge in it so it isn't very precision.
