I'm looking to get into re loading and one of the staff at the local gun shop suggested this one i am mostly looking to reload .223 and maybe 30-06 springfield

is this good to start with the kit's $400 somthing

Yep. Top notch equipment. The Beginner's Kit gives you everything you need less dies and shell holder. Plus RCBS' legendary customer service. If you have any problems, they'll fix it. No questions asked other than your shipping address. Even if you caused the damage.
The Kit comes with a manual, but buy another one as well. I'd suggest the Lyman book. Nothing wrong with the Speer, I think, book that comes with the kit, but the Lyman book has more loads using more powders and bullet weights than any bullet maker's book. It's more versatile.

the guy who runs the shop said all i need are the dies and shell holders then my components

how much space would one need to reload would 23x23 inches of deticated space be enough

If you were to dismount your press while doing all the other things, maybe four square feet would be enough. You do not really need to dedicate any room except for the press which should be bolted to a sturdy table top. Everything else can be brought out and put back away after use.

$400 + seems a bit high, I just ordered mine recently through a US supplier and it was under $400 for the kit, and dies, even with shipping and brokerage. If you are supporting your local gun shop, fine, I understand this. But if you want to save a dollar or two you might want to look at US suppliers like Midsouth (just the kit is listed there for $229 last time I checked).

PS I really like the RCBS kit, and the customer support is great.

for sure any thing you get in rcbs will about as top notch as you want..mybe snoop in the EE,as a few good deals there on reloading equipment..and if you tight for space for reloading..you can make up something like this..

You can pick up a decent digital caliper from Canadian Tire for less than $20 if you watch the sale flyers. Good choice for a first kit...far cheaper to buy once and start out with the equipment you would've eventually ended up with anyway. RCBS warranty is the best in the business!

hmmm i'll have to think about that thanks for the offer fogducker

i still have to pay my dad back for the rifle i bough and get a job to do so but i am so addicted to shooting i figure reloading is worth it
