I have this trimmer, even with a new cutter and pilot it’s leaving faint scratches inside neck. No matter how I align the brass it will do it. Called them twice as they’re always great but they say it’s normal. Seems like there are a lot of them for resale, maybe common? Time for a better unit?

I think any trimmer that uses pilots could have this problem. I guess it depends how tight your necks are.

If you want one without pilots , look at the Wilson trimmer.

I hated my RCBS Trim Pro. Even with case lube it gouged necks. It was never consistent, and it never trimmed the case mouth square.
I changed to a Lyman case trim xpress, which is about a bajillion times better. No more pilots, but you may need to buy bushings if the kit is missing something you need. Build quality is good, no plastic parts. And it's super consistent and dead easy to adjust. No 3 way cutter, but that's the only real negative I have with it.

surprised that Lyman case trim express, does not have there own brass case length sizer...but lee parts for it are affordable to pick up if they do the job
im thinking of getting this set up for myself now...
damn #### I think I need
