RCBS Turret Head Play

Does anyone else have play in their turret press? Mine has a little wiggle in it, and I have trouble getting consistent results in overall length when seating bullets. Some are up to 0.010" short with the odd one being out by as much as 0.013"

Check your bullet seating punch for dirt. Most turrets are adjustable for tension. Some bullet noses are variable in nose profile(especially bulk or mixed mil surplus). Always crank the handle full stroke. Good luck

do you have it adjusted correctly is bolt tight ?
if you have up/ down play you can cut a pop can shim and put it under the nut
if it works -- your good
if it does not work -- take it out

This is why you don't use a turret head press if you want precise hand loads.
