Hey everyone,

So yesterday I noticed that my card was charged and my application appeared online. Now I'm curious about how the RCMP takes care of the calling. Since I usually have my phone on silent and don't answer to numbers I don't recognize, I'm wondering how often the RCMP calls applicants for an interview. Do you all know if this is common?

I've also read various stories from people on here that neither them nor their references got called during the process, how common is this?

Thank you for your time.

For a RPAL they will want to speak to your wife, i just renewed and they took a phone appointment to speak to my wife.

The call comes from a private number.
They will call ONCE then mail your references a letter asking them to call in.
They may or may not call your spouse or references AT ALL.
If you want call the CFC and get your reference number then have your references call in.

Don't be afraid to call and check if they need anything. I once waited two months and called only to be told "we left a message for you.....". Be proactive.

You must have some unusual circumstances (really, I’m not surprised), if they wanted to speak to your wife just for a renewal.

That’s not normally done.....

Well I do not subscribe to caller ID with my mobile phone .

I have been called back by 911 and the RCMP on several occasions and it always comes up with 911 Emergency Services or in the case of the police RCMP and the local area they are calling from.

Twice I have had call backs to my mobile so actual details are fuzzy.

If you are expecting an important call place your phone on vibrate whats so hard about that?

Rob

Same here - no calls to my references for my PAL or RPAL....initial issue or renewals....

Just did an RPAL for my son, no calls, no nothing.

Mailed away on 12 Nov got license in mail on 17 Dec.

Very impressed.

For my RPAL they never called me, my wife, or any of my references.

Same for me and my son. No calls. That's our effective and efficient tax dollars at work. Thank God we have the new and improved screening that comes with bill c-71 to protect us?? What a load of crap!
