RCMP classified my firearm with the wrong barrel length

I was looking over my 2 firearms certificates I have for my Savage FV-SR and Marlin model 795.

The Savage is 16.5"(419mm) barrel length and the Marlin 18"(457mm) barrel.

My Savage certificate states 470mm or greater. I called up the RCMP to fix this and they said that their records show that my cert is correct. So their database is wrong.

My question is, that this will be no problem to me ever, right. RIGHT?!? :bangHead:

Well, once the LGR is gone so will the incorrect data be. You could insist they change the cert info if it really matters to you. It is non-restricted either way so I wouldn't worry about it.

FWIW, I have had to call and correct serial numbers, barrel lengths and other screw ups. The data is so flawed it isn't even funny.

When an original registered non restricted is transferred, it must be verified, just for the reason stated - wrong information given first time.
While being verified they tell you to have a tape measure and measure the barrel length.

I doubt they care much now to fix anything since the LGR is gone soon enough why bother doing more work for no reason.

So long as they have it in the right class, it's nothing I would worry about.

I've got a beautiful Mosin Nagant in the vault - with a registration slip for it that says it's an Enfield. At least the serial number is right.
