I spent one night in that boat drinking far too much alcohol. It was Oouzo Night god forbid. Now she is a coral reef.
 
All these gentlemen where contemporaries/colleagues of my dad. - the part about the ladder is pretty graphic, it reminds me of the sinking of the HMS Coventry *in which there is also an incident with a ladder* (query "Sea of Fire") on youtube.

My Dad was on the HMCS Fraser when the Kootenay disaster happened. He was telling me about this a few months back when I called him. I think I will cut and paste the link to the CBC Current interview into an e-mail and send it to him.
