Anyone have any experience with an RDB doubling? Mine did it 4 or 5 times today. While I've had the rifle since last summer I haven't actually shot it that much. Just did a bit of ammo testing to figure out the gas system setting and get the thing zero'd with optics and irons.

Admittedly the ammo is reloads but this same load worked just fine in an AR and also works fine in a WC180.
 
Double firing, or double feed? I had an issue with mine when I first got it for double feeds, or more accurately, it wouldn't strip the spent round far enough to eject, but it would clear the mag well and the empty case AND the new round would be pushed back to the chamber. Turning up my gas setting solved this issue

I also had a broken firing pin at one point, but at least the way mine broke it didn't function at all

Worth asking, heard they're a bit stingy about people buying multiple spares since they need them for warrenty and don't get resupplies all that quick.

If they say no search 'rdb firing pin canada' there's THAT US/CA importer that stocks them but its more expensive.
 
No, it's not the firing pin. One of mine had this issue. Very consistent fully semi auto. Fun to shoot, but I decided to go boring way of semi. I tried changing pins before I gave up. Took two trips to USA and back (purchased from IRG), but KelTec fixed it. I can't check what they wrote in service report, but I know for sure it wasn't just a pin. Several parts were changed. Sear maybe. Don't remember.
P.S. every second round it fires in double sequence will have much lighter strike on primer.

It only just started and its not consistent except for it is always 2 rounds, never more.

What was the problem / fix?
 
They won't sent you parts, I tried to convince them on the phone to nspeed it up. They would ask you to send rifle to them for service. Check out my post I have uprated it with more info
 
I contacted Vault Dist and they are selling me a firing pin ... although only one. :( Not certain that I need it but wanna have one just in case and for $20 its worthwhile.
 
I got a new firing pin. Pulled the rifle apart and the firing pin in there is for sure not broken. The new firing pin looks exactly the same as the replacement firing pin. Guess I'll give it a cleaning and put it back together to see if the doubling issue continues.

IF this is a problem and a more complex problem to solve, it may be ...... a problem as I am the third owner (I think) of this rifle. Not sure where it was originally purchased or even if the importer / distributor would even talk to me?
 
I found that doubling only came up when my gas setting was too low with some hotter reloads, turned the dial back up 2 notches and it hasn’t happened again.

That had happened during the first time shooting that rifle as well and I may have just let it bump fire unknowingly.

Good suggestion, I did try to dial back the gas a bit to soften the recoil cycle. I'll give it a try.
