Just wondering if this makes any sence, would mounting a RDS as close to the end of the barrel improve accuracy?
I would assume that the closer the scope is to your eye, the shorter the distance there is to line up point of aim and barrel alignment.
Or is this only for iron sights? Makes sence for them, if the iron sights were close together the harder it would be to line everything up.
Thanks for your help!

No difference. The only thing that changes is where it balances on your rifle. Reticle should remain the same size relative to your eye, and parallax (although virtually non-existant) should be very similar. FOV is different but you should have both eyes open anyways so it becomes irrelevant. Forward mount (top of barrel) or traditional mount (mid receiver) are both great options and are the flexibility offered by a red dot. Just make sure you have a good cheek weld and solid mount, and your golden.
