Getting a new barrel for a weatherby mark 5 in 378 wby mag, question is current barrel is a 1 in 12” would a 1in 10” work better ? Loading 300 grain bullets to use and will be probably main load. Any insite would be greatly appreciated

For twist rate versus bullets - it is the length of the bullet that matters, not the weight. Within the same brand, the heavier bullets tend to be longer, but not necessarily the same length when you change one brand to another. So what the bullet maker's twist rate chart shows, may not apply well to another brand of bullet.
I'd go with 1-10. Gives you a little more versatility. - dan
