Re-barreling a Left handed Winchester

I have left handed Winchester Model 70. With a Shilen .257 Ackley Improved barrel that has a serious Head space problem.

I want it to be a plain old .30-06.

I live in Alberta and want to kind of keep costs down.

Does anyone know who does good work for a reasonable price?

I think a quality stainless barrel like a Gaillard supplied and fitted will usually cost you anywhere from $550 on up...

RKS Enterprises Ltd / Ron Smith Barrels is a name that comes to mind. I saw work he did over ten years ago and liked it.

I know he was in Alberta, I just don't know where, or if he is still in business.

I think you sent your action to him and he fitted one of his barrels to it...I'm not entirely sure though.

He did do good work for a reasonable cost IIRC.
