I figure my cz550 22-250 barrel will need to be rebarreled this summer at some point.
I dont know if this is something I can do or if a smith must do it to start.
But I was thinking if I could get a barrel that I could say screw in or something, then I could bring 2-3 of them with me when I am shooting and just keep swapping my barrels for a cooler one.
Right now I can only do about 10 shots in 5 minutes but then need a 5-7 min break befor taking more, and the time to cool gets longer and longer with ever shot.

Get a large CO2 tank with a vave and some flexible hose... stick the hose in the chamber and let some CO2 flow out the muzzle. It cools it down fairly quickly. I made one up from an old fire extinguisher.

Barrels need to be installed tight for accuracy, switching them in the field would require a barrel vice, and action wrench and also require sighting in each time.

ah, ok that wont work then, lol.

Wouldnt cooling the barrel like this cause it to warp?
I wouldnt think a 10lb tank of C02 from Air Liquid or some medical supply place would be all that much either, surly less then multiple barrels too, lol.
Would a different gas do a better job at cooling?
