Re chamber a .223 to 6mm Creedmore

No. 6mm is much larger than .223, so you either need a new barrel or rebore the old. It's also a much larger case, meaning you need different magazines as well as a different bolt face and bolt stop. You're far better off just buying a rifle that is already a normal short action cartridge like .308 Win. and converting it to the 6mm. Then you only have to deal with the barrel; as the bolt, magazine and bolt stop should all be the correct ones.

Depends on the platform I would think. A Savage bolt action would be most likely/easiest to convert, though I am not at all familiar with the dimensions of the 6 Creedmoor.

A rebore or a rebarrel would be required at minimum, as well as bolt face/magazine mods I suspect.

Well you would need a new barrel or have the barrel re-bored for starters... 6mm is .243" not .223". Also, I think the 6mm creedmoor uses a standard .470" bolt face and a .223 uses a .384" bolt face so your bolt face would need to be machined or bolt replaced. Bolt stops would also likely have to be modified as I assume 6mm creedmoor is a longer round than .223 rem. In my opinion you're probably better off starting with a different donor action/rifle. Like one that is already a standard short action with standard bolt face and then rebarrel.

On a tikka you would need to open the bolt face to a 308 face or buy a new bolt. The cost of a new bolt will be frightening from sako. After that just rebarrel it and good to go. The action is all once length but being as the creed is a short action you wouldn't need a new bolt stop just a 308 mag. If you want to seat long heavy bullets out of the case you will need a long action bolt stop (stoeger sells a kit for about $80 tax and shipped) and then a long action mag.

I have a 7mm-08 t3 and got the long action bolt stop and 30-06 mag so I could actually seat the bullets out. Factory rounds are almost to long for the mags from my experience.
