can a savage model 12f/tr in .308 (1in10)be cut to .300 wsm?(i know the bolt face will need to be opened too if thats possible)

Rechamber Savage

Sure it can be rechambered to .300 WSM. The nice thing about Savages is that the bolt head is interchangeable, so you just swap out the bolt head and magazine (the WSM won't feed out of a .308 mag), and you should be good. Happy shooting! Erik.

I would be cheaper to sell the gun and buy the one in the calibre you want, unless you can do the work yourself.

Sharp shooter supply has the bolt heads and are very nice to deal with.

well i have all the goodies need to swop over to a mag case from www.sharpshootersupply.com.they seemed really great to work with.

All you need is a regular magnum bolt head. Did you get another ejector, spring and retaining pin? Did they tell you to screw in the firing pin stop and reset the firing pin protrusion to .040" - .045"? Make sure you screw out the cocking piece so the cocking piece pin does not hit the bolt body. Have you found a smith to rechamber your barrel?
