Re crown

There are a few home made methods that you may want to look into. Some actually work quite well.

That's where I came from, happy day when I moved on to real tools.

To answer a the cost question, I've probably spent around $500 on mine. Every caliber needs it's own pilot. I look at it this way, I'm probably saving a trip to a gunsmith and about $50 cash everytime I use it. I'm so far into free now its silly.

And, if I have a pilot for your caliber, drop in and in a manner of minutes you'll be on your way. a bit more if I have to cut an inch or 2 off your barrel.

I cut this cancer off one of my rifles, after that and a quick re-crown, MOA to 300 yards.

To put it into perspective, the rifling was a bit pitted, MOA is more than I expected.

In CGN speak it's got "strong rifling with some minor staining".

Bottom line, with a good crown, it still shot as good as most 40 year old hunting rifles.

Hmmm not much other then family stuff every weekend so far, but when the weather is a bit nicer. I'll bring coffee, donuts, and if you are partial, a nice bottle of Crown for your time ;-)
Do you happen to have a 9mm mandrel aswell?
