re-re-sizing

A buddy has a batch of 30-06 brass that has been resized (I believe to 270 Win). He is asking if he can re-size this re-sized brass back to 30-06?

Theoretically yes. But that is a lot of reworking, and the necks would likely be weak.

Yes, but likely to be unsatisfactory. Depending on how it is done, you could end up with uneven brass thickness, uneven case mouths, and some splitting. Not sure why he would do this with the generally good availability of .30-06 brass.
If he does this, he should anneal the case necks after sizing up.

"...the necks would likely be weak..." For sure. You'd have to ream the necks. That'd make 'em far too thin. Tell your buddy to go buy some .30-06 brass. It's neither hard to get nor terribly expensive. You may want to make a few observations about the moths coming out of his wallet too.
