Good evening folks. I have a Bushnell Tactical First*Strike site. I bought it a few years back and only used it a couple of times. Decided to use it again so I mounted it to a rifle. It appeared to work (this unit does not have an on/off switch, it is controlled by removing the storage cover). When I got to the range it would not work, the red dot would not turn on. Installed a fresh battery, still no go. Could not find any info on Bushell web site and no troubleshooting tips on a web search. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.

Ensure battery contacts are clean. Ensure the emitter is not obstructed with dust/dirt/other stuff. If the cover has a magnet in it to turn it off/on, ensure there is nothing magnetic nearby that might be engaging the switch inadvertently. Test in a very dark room to see if you get any light emission and troubleshoot from there. If all else fails try some percussive maintenance.

Maybe contact Bushnell's warranty?

I had one and it did the same thing. I think I eventually just threw it away as it was more trouble dealing with Bushnell repair than it was worth.

First, is the batt correctly in, Neg UP ? Did you look at the manual ? It says you need to turn Brightness Up or Down. (Page 3 ) The manual is available online on Bushy site. And the red dot is a 'Sight'; the Bushy inet place is a site.
