Hi Everyone.
Well sat in front of the smart box and watched a half hr of my fav. show working the bolt continuosly (driving my wife nuts!) and then gave the rods a lite coating of oil.
Went to the range and tried a couple of different types of ammo.
Well it seems the factory mag is crap where the Remington 30 round held out the best
With-out going into all the brands and giving one a bad name that may not deserve it, and to be politically correct, the ammo I found to work the best in "mine" was CCI Blazer.
I'm happy for now and hope my daughter gets good use out of it.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and inputs!

LOL!!!
I feel your pain. Been there, done that.
The set screws in the back are too tight. Just unloosen them to the point were you just start to notice resitance.

CCI Stingers and Velocitors work best for me. My 30 round factory mag only had one FTE/FTF using the cheap Federal champions. Other than that, she's a tack driver out to 75 yards (all the time I had to play). I'll be putting on a better scope and going out to 150ish hopefully sometime this week.

I have had great luck with CCI Blazer as well. My best pick! My 10 rounders would only load 7-8 when I started off. After they were broken in, They worked better, and will lock the bolt back when empty, as opposed to my 30 rounders. None of them lock the bolt back.
Win 36gr hollow points work well.
The federals are about the same, I had one miss feed and nearly bent the bullet outta the casing.
Im not sure if anyone else has found this, but factory rem high velocity (thunderstruck or whatever) is about the worst thing. as it has the weakest performance out of anything I've tried, and fails to fire on occasion. only 5/50 though.
anyone else found this?

Change the extractor and the hammer and it will feed what ever you give it

Mine was FTF and FTE ever since I got mine :mad:
I did the rod trick and thoroughly cleaned and lubed over the last few months. No matter what i did or what ammo I used , it would still act up. I was just about to take it back to dealer but read about the extractor replacement.
Got extractor and hammer a few weeks ago, changed them over (pretty simple) and went to the range. I probably fired over 500 rounds of all types of ammo with ZERO problems.:D:D
Why can't Remington just install a quality extractor during assembly to eliminate all the aggravation and have satisfied customers wanting to purchase more of their products.:confused:

Hi Wrencher2008, where did you get your extractor and hammer for your remington?
