Hi guys, I know in the past that this must have been done past boredom.

So if I permanently mod 25rnd mags to only fit my specific 10/22 and no other then it should be legal. Right? Maybe after a trip to the RCMP lab. I have time. Is there anyone thAt has done this?

Okay guys, have at me.

This doesn't answer your question-----but-----
Have you tried the spectre ballistics aluminum adapter and the Remington 597 high cap mags?
The one I bought 3 months ago runs flawlessly in all 3 of my 10/22s.
It's one alternative......

It is legal. The RCMP had deemed the magazine that is specific to the Ruger 10/22 and Charger prohibited, nothing else...yet.

The rcmp opinion is not the law. The rcmp have also been instructed not to grandstand on the magazine as the sole charge. In otherwords, if all they're trying to jack you up for is their opinion on the magazines, they won't. They know their opinion won't hold up in court if it ever got there. Keep using your butler creeks.

You are correct, the opinion of the RCMP isn't law.
To suggest that someone "keep using your butler creeks" with flagrant disregard, is irresponsible.
The average person can't afford the legal shyte-storm that may result.

I wonder what the outcome would have been if it had been supplied to RCMP with a thirty round mag instead of a ten.
For $100 (last time I noticed) you can get CSSA legal insurance. A good way to go when fooling with this stuff.
A friend is having a look at this for me

I believe the folks at DLASK have done what you are proposing ...

Your plan is to modify a 25 round 10/22 mag so it won’t fit in a charger pistol ?

Ian, before you go to the trouble of doin' that mod, I'd check further into the legality. The 25 mags are supposed to be legal, just determined by Ponies to 'Not be legal" but no ruling I'm aware of. I just wouldn't want to deal with the whole thing in court - you never know what judge you'll get, he may agree with the Pony "Opinion".
