re: venturing into the world of black guns

Hi all,
been back into the target shooting with the handguns and shotguns for about a year now after a too long break from it all. (Damn Job). Anyway, i have always been interested in getting into the world of the black gun as i find them very appealing and want to go shoot the hell out of a backstop at the range (LOL)
anyway what i am asking and i know that i will probably get a thousand different answers, but here i will ask anyway, which rifle is the best to get introduced to this wonderful world , should i build one or buy one and start from there, is the AR15 the way to go , or the Norc T97 or the Tavor???? is there somewhere on this internet place that a guy could do some research ( asking for recommendations to ease the pain of google searches please), any info and recommendations from you fellow CGNers would be a great help .

thanks

It's comes down to what you prefer.
T97 :some like it, some hate it. If you want a truck gun to shoot the hell out of then go for it! Just don't expect a tavor
Tavor: very nice rifle and again some don't like it. But a lot more like it then dislike it. Usually the ar guys hate on the tavor but it's pretty bad ass. I've never shot one just held one
Xcr:my personal favourite. Many don't like it because of past issues.
Ar15: I don't know too much about them. But they must be amazing if it's been used for as long as it has.
Benelli mr1: from what I've read very accurate just has some weird ergos. But everything benelli is good in my opinion.
Hk sl8:don't know to much about it. But hk makes great stuff
Black and green classic:great rifles, kinda heavy also being reviewed by the RCMP

What am I missing? Lots I'm sure....
Personally I think no matter what you get you'll enjoy it :) it's all about what you need it for.

I have owned 3 black rifles so far.

HK SL8 - very accurate but front heavy and just heavy in general (heavy barrel) and a long barrel. I would say it is a great coyote gun.

Robinson Armament XCR-L- Accurate, heavy, front heavy (heavy barrel), and more tactical than the SL8. Fun, but IMO not worth the money you pay for it brand new.

T97 NSR - My current rifle. So far so good, I really enjoy the rifle for what it is. Not so much a tactical rifle as just a fun plinker. I find the iron sights to be awesome as well. It is the best bang for your buck at a lower price point I think. The Tavor or Swiss Arms are probably the best bang for your buck at a higher price point.
