READ ME! Shooting Critique

Here is why I'm doing that
1. I am a firm believer in using skeletal structure for support over and beyond muscle. In order to do that I have my left elbow tucked in resting on my rib cage and the forearm as straight up and down as comfortable as possible. I also (as noted) am leaning back slightly at the hip in order to make this shooting style possible.

I agree with this, for sustained target shooting your arms will tire if all you try to use is muscles, the elbow must be supported by the ribs (or belly)

My method may be different - its a target shooting stance in this pic.
My snap shooting stance is much different.

So far I am seeing snap shooting stances in all of the other pictures.

Most of the other shooters in the pictures are not locking their elbows and are in a stance that is more condusive to hitting moving targets, when you elbow is not locked you can swing the rifle quickly form target to target.

Snap shooting is up and shoot, not usually with a sling, and best when targets are set for a short exposure (5 seconds)

I just have a pet peeve of using the mag as a handle, other than that I agree with you fully

FWIW, the picture of us all standing at EOHC was taken during a snap fire session. Notice I'm using a semi-rigid sling stance (yes, that's me in the grey shirt with the Enfield). 3 second target exposures, then drop the muzzle. The sling position used is the only one I can acquire that quickly ;)

For standing aimed, I use the same stance demonstrated by Richard in the first post ;)

For the record...
