Is there any real difference between the old 10/22 aluminum trigger group and the newer plastic ones? Does one work better than the other?
I read one review suggesting that the plastic are actually better able to match the factory specs consistently, as they don't shrink as much as the aluminum does after coming out of the molds in manufacturing process.
My 10/22 is about 24 years old, but has been sitting in a safe most of that time. It has the aluminum trigger group. In considering options for upgrading, I've looked at doing everything from a home a trigger job, a trigger kit, or going all the way for a new assembly.
