Real life experience using Remington 175-grain loads in 7x57?

I have my 7x57 sighted in with some hand loads I made with a Lee Loader with 139 grain Hornady Interlock bullets.

Seeing as I already shoot 140 grain bullets out of my 280 and 130 grain bullets in my 270, I'm thinking the 7x57 using 139 grain bullets is just too much of the same thing. The last time I attended a gun show I got two boxes of Remington ammo with 175-grain bullets.

I wonder if any of you can report back real life deer or black bear hunting experience using this Remington factory load please? I know that factory 7x57 loads are said to be anemic due to the variety of old Mausers around, but I'd sure like to hear how the round works on animals, anemic or not.

As I age I really like my Husqvarna 4100 lightweight rifle for carrying around more and more.

I have shot moose, elk, wolf coyote and whitetails with various 7x57 175gr. factory loads, but not Remington unfortunately. I doubt that Remington loads are very different than Federal, or Winchester, and are likely about 100 fps slower than the "hotter" European standard Norma and S&B ammo I have used. I suggest you go forth and slay some beasts. The Remington 175 gr. roundnose 7x57 loads are likely loaded to about 2300 fps muzzle velocity, and will penetrate well on deer and bears while the wide nose and lots of exposed lead will expand even on a deer's ribs. It's an old, old, winning formula. Just not a long range choice. But within 250 yds you'll be fine.

As above, not Remington, but I've used the Federal 175 on deer, it works well. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again or use the Remington.

The Federal stuff is fully 250 fps slower than Bell (which IIRC is Igman).

I don't shoot factory fodder, but I do load the Hornady 175 SP in my No.1-RSI 7X57 and have taken three or four deer with it... does a terrific job... pretty much like a .308 or .30/06 with 165's... you certainly will have no problem on deer or black bear. I load the 150 RCL and 154 SP & SST in my other 7X57's & 7X64's with similar results.

I've got a little Lee Loader kit and a box of 175 grain bullets and a pound of H4350.

Have you ever used H4350 for the 7x57?
