Real or fake? How do you tell? mosin nagant PU

Open an account at IMGUR and upload the pics, then display the links in a post.

As for real or fake...there were a ton of refurbs done by a couple of arsenals or companies in Russia.

Who knows how real their products are?

To see something like a vet bringback for sure real one is so rare you will probably never see one.

There are a lot that were ex snipers that were reanimated by gunsmiths etc with mixed results.

Also normal rifles that were snipered in Europe recently etc.

Buy and sell guns on the EE and maybe people will take you more seriously here. Just my .02
 
I found it. Only 2 pics and pretty far away.

Hard to really say how real it is. Looks to be one of the relatively recent refurbs. It has that booklet...I wonder if it has Made In Russia laser etched on it?

Price is too high IMHO.

Note he used ugly ammo...I wonder if the bore is nice and shiny or as dark as the Black Hole of Calcutta?
 
Did you also notice in the caption " 2$ ea for extra pictures " .. lol. Ill check out the EE here though, its currently locked for me but ill look into it tomorrow. Appreciate the help guys, thanks
 
Scope serial on the left knox, 'real' looking screws on the PU scope, same on the mount, turned bolt handle that doesn't look cooked is where I'd start. Posting pics here for expert opinion wold be helpful too.
 
The original PU scopes had no coatings on the lenses. Also, the locking screws for the turret dials are fillister style (rounded tops) on the originals, not the Pan Head style (flat Tops) that the repro's have.
 
As far as rounded tops for screws go, if requested Russian factories that make repro scopes nowadays will supply rounded screws at no additional cost. Screws are no longer the tell tell sign,
