Hey Everybody,
If you're like me, you're likely sick of having pistols on top of pistols in your safe. You can go out and buy a pistol rack - or if you're a little handy, there's an easy way to make one.
Start with a piece of coated closet shelving. I went with 18 inches wide because it fits my safe door and the tines work out right.

Starting from the left (or right) remove tines 3, 5, 9, 11, 15 and 17.

Then cut the remaining tines to 2 and a half and 3 and a half inch lengths, as follows. The short tines will become legs, the long pistol holders. (Three and a half is shorter than a 4 inch barrel, so it won't touch anything internally.)

Finally, bend the short tines over the bar to form legs.

Voila - instant pistol holder. The whole project takes about 15 minutes.

Here's what it looks like in the safe:

Easy. You can get about 3 pistol racks out of an average closet length of racking, and they will take you less than an hour to make.
Have fun...
