Really high see-through rings?

Looking to mount a 1" scope on an SR-22, but want to keep the ar-style iron sights on there as well.

Since the scope needs to be mounted fairly high anyway, is there a set of rings that would let me see through the base for something that high? (using a YHM fixed front sight, which would need about 1.5" of clearance to use)

The usual see-through rings look way to low. Any thoughts?

why do you still want to keep the irons? or do you HAVE to keep them cuz they're not removable?

I dunno. I like using irons, but for longer ranges, I'm more accurate with a scope.
Guess I want best of both worlds. :)

hmm, you're gonna need REALLY tall mounts, so that when looking under your scope the objective's bottm edge is high enough to fully clear your line of sight to the irons. so, you're looking for rings that are around 4" high, right?

plan B - get normal rings to line up the scope well, remove the irons, put on a 45deg weaver adaptor thingy so that the rail is on the right side, and bolt on a small holographic / reflex dot sight to it. for short range, just rotate your rifle to the left so that you're using the dot, and for long range use as normal.

What about an offset scope mount?
I realize I'd have trouble with windage at different ranges, but are there any other downsides?

You are going to cripple your scope as an effective sight with either of your options. Why put on a scope at all if you are going to make it difficult to use because of mounting choices? Either use the sights as they are, or mount a scope properly and get its advantages working for you. As Stubblejumper said, the worst of both worlds is not a smart move.

Any rings that will clear AR iron sights will be way too high. Mount the scope at the proper height with quality quick detach rings and use a folding rear sight.

I would consider a quick release mount, or a piviot mount similar to what Aimpoint and EOTECH use for their X3 magnifiers. What type of base are putting the mounts on?
