Really need help picking Tactical vest 4 - 3gun match

I have been shooting 3 gun matches for 2 years now and every time I shoot a match say I need a tac vest! But when it comes time to buy 1, I never know what to buy can anyone help?

Criteria
Holds 10rd lar mags with tac pull handles
Holds 5/30rd mags (the 5/30 is for the sq :) )
Pouches for couple of extras

Notes.
I am on the larger side and my weight changes 30+- lbs ever couple of years (XL to XXL and back)
I don’t want to spend an arm and leg for a couple of matches a year, but I not even sure what price i should be looking at :(

Anyone got suggestions?
 
I think the only thing that fits your requirements is a modular vest with custom pouches. Standard rifle pouches are too deep to hold the LAR mags, this includes fabric and kydex pouches.

I would recommend getting a very basic vest and blocking the bottom of the pouches with wood or foam to boost up the LAR mags. It's not pretty or 'tactical' but it works.

I have an Eagle/SKD vest. It's basic but still overkill. If I was in the market for a new vest I'd look seriously at the Maxpedition Mini or Ten Speed rigs from One Shot Tactical (sponsor above...)
 
Having shot many 3gun matches over the last several years I've come to abandon the whole "tac vest" idea.
Slows you down and gets in the way .
For US matches all I wear is four pistol mags, one Spare 30 end mag a couple of six round shotshell speed strippers and a dump pouch. In Canada the dump pouch serves to hold my 10rnd LAR AR mags.
Vests are hot, heavy and really... Not all that great an aid to shooting a match well.
Watch any serious 3 gun match video... Noone wears a "tac vest".

So what brand and where can i buy them?
 
The vests I like are the ones that are minimalistic in design. Cumberbund style Molle band with shoulder straps. Open back for air flow. Something like a Tactical Tailor MAV 1 or 2 pc. Under $100, customizable and available from Dave's Surplus & Tactical (Sponsor). DS Tactical used to have a CGN discount, but I dunno if they do still (I bought all my tac gear from them and the EE).
 
Tac vests maybe more useful in Canada....where 6-7 rifle mags are required.

In the states, I carry everything on my belt. 4 extra pistol mags, 1 extra AR mag and 1 shotshell carrier. That plus the ammo in my gun(s) is usually enough

Yeah. Just think how much 6 unhandicapped loaded 30 rounders would mass....

Maybe some day in this country... Just gotta keep fighting....
