Really old LH Savage 338

Got the rifle back from my smith last night. He shortened the LOP and added a softer pad. Boresighted it and zeroed it this AM. Four rounds with the fourth dead center. The thing is now very pleasent to shoot even with the fairly hot handloads I was using. Seems to have not much more recoil than the 175 gr 7mm Mag handloads I have been shooting in my model 70. I'm always a little surprised by how much better a correctly fitted rifle feels. I'm thinking I have my new elk/bear gun.
