Reaming a straight wall chanber, or cut it?

I'm thinking of a long term project in which I will open up the bore of a 45/70 to 50 call (if there is enough beef in the barrel), and rechamber to 50 AK (alaskan). With a straight wall cartridges, is it possible/recomended to cut the chamber with a boring tool, or for that mater, perhaps a standard reamer?

I am tempted to say that if you have to ask, then the answer is ream it. MY answer is not as smartass as might first appear. My own experience at boring small holes with a boring bar, is that I tend to get run out and a tapered hole where I was trying for a straight one. I suspect that a person who is asking "can I" does not already know how much or how little run out they will get and I would suggest that the time to learn is well before you start working on the barrel.
In my own case I make D bits and ream the chambers with them in order to get dimension control.
