Reaming Chrome-lined Barrels

Can a HSS Chamber Reamer cut a chamber in a chrome-lined (miltary) barrel? It would surely dull very quickly, but could it cut one, two, or zero chambers. Carbide reamers are very expensive and fragile.

Zero chambers... the chrome lining will ruin the reamer quickly. Carbide is required or the lining has to be removed chemically first.... some acid I believe...

and if the bore is chromed lined, you now have an exposed edge and the lining will strip or flake on firing, know of a good shotgun barrel that was opened up to handle steel shot and the chrome was flaked like crazy
