Have any of you Cooey fans found an aperture sight that fits nicely on a Cooey Model 75? There is quite a selection in the Williams catalogue but understandably nothing for an old Cooey rifle. No doubt one of them would fit but there's no way to tell without physically trying it.
If you are looking for one that you want to mount on the side of the receiver at the rear a Mossberg S330 might fit. Of course you have to drill and tap holes.
Edit--I just tried holding a Mossberg S330 peep sight against the barrel of my 75. It looks as though it would work without any stock modification. You would have to make sure the holes are drilled in the correct location. On most old Mossbergs the holes were drilled right in the middle on the side of the receiver. With the S330 the holes are more at the 10 o'clock position instead of the middle. The other thing is the S330 sight will probably cost you as much as the gun is worth. There are a couple on ebay right now.
I have 3 Cooey model 75's with aperature sights. One is a Williams FP reciever sight that has a small 75 on the unside. One has a Lyman 57 MS sight. The third has a Parker Hale PH 17 reciever sight I Love Cooey Rifles
Got to go - thanks for your help. The Lyman 90 MJT in that link looks perfect but they don't make a mounting base to fit my Cooey receiver. They supply only two, for 1" and 15/16" receivers. Mine is 13/16". Wish I could find a gun dealer that carries this stuff in order to physically try it. Even the big places like Western Gun parts who brag that they have everything don't carry it.
