So my first AR (Norc 10.5") hasn't even arrived yet and already I am in the process of bankrupting myself on it. But hey: while I may wind up living in a cardboard box under a bridge, it will be the best-defended cardboard box ever.

I've found a set of Trijicon tritium sights that look promising: http://www.dstactical.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_213&products_id=1099. However, I want to run a red dot, cowitnessed, leaving the front sight tower intact. Which if I am getting this newfangled AR slang right, means that I'm going to need a rear BUIS. Can anybody recommend one (preferably not too heinously expensive, that'll accept the Trijicon rear?

Also, any of you gentlemen have any personal experience with the Trijicon tritium sights? Thanks!

Most rear buis will. I know my MI rear will. Any carry handle will. The common LMT unit should, so should the Daniel Defense.
You can get cheap UTG and/or NCStar units that will.

The common and less expensive ones, like the Magpul will not.

Tell you what, pick out one you like, link it, and I'll tell you if it will fit.

No experience with that sight in particular, but I recognize that it uses standard AR mounting features.

Your slang sounds accurate.

Trijicon makes great stuff. Can't go wrong.

However, is reconsider getting night sights on your AR. They won't be very bright on your AR in that you're front sigt will be so far away it will be hard to pick up, if at all. Also, unless its near pitch black, you won't be able to see the sights; coincidentally, you won't be able to see your target. It should be pointed up that as soon as you shoot your gun, you won't be able to see the tritium. If you rock a light, you won't be able to see the tritium. I'd person my put the money towards an optic, a light or some decent folding BUS.

Just something to consider.

As for your question, look at the Troy rear sight. Double check on the magpul rear BUS.
