I am looking to purchase my first one but the choices are staggering. So many shapes, sizes, materials, price ranges. I found a good selection on 693 precision. So where do you buy from? and what do you use and why? I am looking for a durable bag to be used mostly off the ground from the prone position but could also be used from the bench.

DS Tactical and Wanstalls both sell 3 sizes of cordura shooting bags that are also made in Canada........;)

Just buy one of everything, lol.
Only advice I can give is to opt for the lightweight fill. That way when you've got half a dozen in your pack they are not so heavy !

I have this TAB Gear one from 693 Precision that I really like.

Caldwell DeadShot Shooting Bags a pair for about $40 at my local Grouse River works for me.

Whether it's an AR, traditional hunting rifle or a 10/22 with or w/o a bi-pod I can always find a position that works from the ground or bench...

They come unfilled and if IIRC I used rice however there maybe better or lighter fill options (perhaps others can chime in on fill options?)...

Cheers D

Definitely opt for the lightweight fill. You can then attach the bag to the rear of your stock with a lanyard and always have it at hand without having an awkward weight hanging off the back of your rifle.

If I could only have 1 bag, it would be one of the cylindrical soup can sized ones filled with hard plastic pellets. These bags have uses far beyond just a rear bag, they can be used to solidify many barricade shooting positions.

I have this one as my field expedient model but the larger triangular tab gear bag filled with chromite sand is my goto. Heavy as f due to the fill but ever so precise and rock steady shot to shot. This is one of the biggest factors in me being a moa shooter to sub moa.

Hi there.
I use a THLR small rear bag bought from Vertebrae.no (Norwegian company)

That said Nomad Custom gear out of Edmonton do some really nice bags.... Thats the way I will be going next for a little bit of a larger bag.

Pete.
