rear sight adjustment question

I recently got a great BSA Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1 off of Karl from valleyview, ab. Awesome guy if you have any thoughts of dealings with him go for it couldnt speak higher of someone. My question is this and im sure its a simple one, but i want to know the rifle inside and out... is there an online explanation for how the adjustable rear screw sight works? What the numbers stand for etc etc. i know its basic but i need to start somewhere. thanks

I learned a great deal from this site. As for the numbers, they are increments of 100 yards. The site goes up to 1300 yards. If I remember, every click on the "micrometer" sight is 1/4 MOA, but I can't remember.
