oh , i've been up and down the whole range of settings, using both 45acp and 45 colt ( it's a convertible) and with the rear sight elevation screw just about to fall out of the hole, it still shoots low- maybe 4-6 inches at 10 yards - the front sight is the tallest thing i've ever seen( i've got a couple of other rugers)and i don't like the screw being that loose- right now i'm putting the rear sight in the lowest notch with the colt 45 250 equiv loads and climbing the ramp a bit at a time till it zeros, then i'll probably have to file it off a bit- note- the old army has a blade of .058,the 357 is about .055, but this thing has a blade of.063 - and yes, i know heavier bullets will print higher, but 50 grains isn't going to make THAT much of a difference and the adjustable feature is no good if you're working at the end of the spectrum- ie the only way to zero this thing using the factory blade is to remove some of the meat from that front sight
