Rear sights for a 870 tactical barrel?

I recently purchased a barrel for my 870, its the actual "870 tactical 18.5 tactical barrel" with the door breach. Problem is i dont have a rear sight for it so when i align my sight the target is gone completely because the sights are too high. I used a laser bore sight. Has anyone shaved their front sight down and just painted a dot? Where is a good place to look for a rear sight rather to put on the barrel or on the action?

The factory rear for that sight is the XS Shot Rail

Both of these sights have been used on factory Rem shotguns at one time or another - the shot rail, as mentioned on the tactical and the other sight on the R12.
