Before I ordered ammo from one of the sponsors, I decided to give the local shop a chance to get my business.
As luck would have it, the owner was in this morning and gave me a price of $320/thousand for Federal American Eagle ammo. A reasonable price considering shipping costs from anybody else.
I ended up with 450 rounds of 124 grain, 450 rounds of 147 grain, and 2 boxes of 115 grain Blazer Brass (I cleaned him out of American Eagle)
I've no problem shopping locally and supporting local business as long as they're not trying to gouge.
