rebarrel a R-77

Could a R-77 in .338 win mag. be rebarrelled using a take off MK V Weatherby .257 WM barrel? Is there any reason to expect feeding problems in the neck area of the magazine lead area?Thanx Harold ***cost and who can do it?Or is a FN 98 in .308Norma mag a better candidate?

you wil need a reamer but it can be done quite easily....face off the Weatherby counterbore and face the tenon to the proper length,recut the 1-1/16 x 16 tpi Mark V thread to 1" x 16tpi, adjust the shoulder to index the stamping and cut the chamber to depth...it'll feed without any problems.

any 'smith with a reamer can do this job.
