Rebarrel/bore out costs??

I've been looking at the combo guns on trade ex website for years and always wondered what would it cost to have 22 high power changed to 30-30 or a common acceptable med game sized round? Are we talking a couple hundred, or 400-500$ +

It will cost a fortune for a double/drilling. I doubt anyone in Canada does it, probably none in the US either. You need a very large and specialized machine to work that. However, Ron Smith can re-bore + rechamber single barrel guns for somewhere around $300 to $400ish

I talked to a smith once about having a bakail (sp?) double in 45-70 rebarreled to a 458.....

He figured it could be done.

Build a jig that could hold the barrels in his mill, and line it all up, cut the new chambers. Re-jigger the locking block and ejectors to work on the 458 cases.....

All in 1000-1200 per tube and then another 4-600 for the action work.

And no guarantees that it would function properly......

Needless to say I sold the rifle instead.......
