I have a santa Barbra model 1000 in 308, it is standard length action, which 30-06 would fit nicely in this action, BUT what about 338 win mag or 300 weatherby, I know the bolt would have to be worked on, but can it be done?

The bolt face and the extractor and the action will require alteration as well to feed the magnum cartridge.

The 300 Wby is a little long (300 Win Mag is better) but the standard magnum length cartridges work best.

308 norma mag would work even better having been designed for just this action, and gives up little in comparision to the win mag
