i'm wondering about the feasability of rebarrelling standard bolt faced long action. it should work fine except the 6.5x54 has a case head diameter that is smaller then the standard .30-06 case head. i want if this could work and how reliable would extraction and ejection be. for example i have a Norwegian Krag thats has been rebarreled to the 6.5x54, and while it almost always extracts, ejection is not 100%. would a true controled round feed like a 1903 Springfield or M70 work better? i've been eyeing up those Montana M1999 actions, but have heard very mixed reviews.
