hey,i currently own a 22-250 but i no longer hunt ground hogs,i was thinking about converting this rifle into a big game rifle(any of the '08 family cartridges) does any one no where i can get a new barrel or get my rifle rebarreled, my rifle is made by church hill gun makers ltd. london england if any one can help it would be apreciated

I would venture any qualified "smith" can install a quality custom barrel on it. Without seeing the action I would guess it is a Mauser 98.

Usually a match grade stainless barrel all finished is about $625. A chrome moly would be slightly less. That's what I charge.

Used barrels or new "pull offs" are considerably less if you find a suitable one.

Ellwood Epps in Orillia, Precision Arms & Gunsmithing in King City, Chris Bonner-Vickers Firearms Repair in Fort Francis, Carmen Willows in Elgin....these are just a couple of 'smiths in your province......they are out there.....and should all be very capable of re-barrelling your rifle for you.

If you can find a barrel for a Churchill, it's no big deal. If you can't, you're looking at machining costs, plus the cost of the barrel and installation. It may be cheaper to buy another rifle.
Where you are in Ontario is important. Any smithy can change a barrel.

$350.00 will get you a new SS barrel made to your specs in any calibre you want from Ron Smith in Innisfail, Alberta. You then have to pay a smith to Cut, Crown, Thread, Chamber and fit the barell to your action.
