For you 'smiths - any major difficulties in having a rebore done on a Remington, or BAR, semi in .30-06 to a .338-06 A-Square? More I look at it, the more I like the cartridge. Seems to be perfect in a 22" barrel.

You'd be better off changing the barrel. Re-boring requires a highly skilled smithy with the right equipment and it'd be expensive. You'd likely have mag and feeding issues too. Plus you'd have to find a .338 barrel made for a semi-auto. Browning seems to have dropped the .338 in the BAR.

Try Ron Smith in Wimbourne AB A .338-06 should work fine with no alterations after all the .35 Whelan did......................Harold **skip the A-Square

It is cheaper to re-bore than to re-barrel. As mentioned give Ron Smith a call.

There will be NO problems with the 338-06 feeding from the original 30-06 magazine.

And yes, the 338-06 is one hell of a cartridge. :)
