receiver threads different on new FN winchester model 70

The new ones are 1-28, 1.05 tenon. I had mine off the other day; it took a couple of good wacks but it came.

I newer saw bolt action rifle with barrel tenon threaded with 24TPI, newer mind 28TPI.
Are you sure of your info? b/c I think it's a misprint.
1/4" dia bolt has fine thread of 28TPI, compare that to 1-1/16" dia tenon....

No, I meant 28 TPI. Its such a fine thread that it looks stupid but that's what it is. The old one is 16 TPI.

If you go on Shilen's site for their pre-threaded barrels you will see where they say to specify whether you want 16 TPI 28 TPI. The world, she's achanging.

Or just google Winchester 28 TPI barrel thread.

I was going to pick up a new winchester crf action and install a barrel off of push feed 35whelen. But I was unaware of.the different specs between the two.. so now I will either do a re barrel with a new pipe or bore out a 3006 to 35

Thanks for the info. Always learn something new
