Just got the latest IDPA Tactical Journal and it really brought to my attention the contrast between how guns are percieved in the US vs Canada.

A 13 year old boy really wanted to go to an IDPA shoot with his father but he had a broken arm in a cast. The cast was not allowing him to handle his gun so they went to the doctor.

They brought the gun into the practice and the boy got fitted for a new cast while holding the gun! Gotta love it!

Yeah - I read that article. Pretty cool - I laughed when the kid said the Dr. didn't seem to know much about guns, but had experience setting up casts for people who skiied (so they could still hold the ski poles). All told, a good story.

Some interesting scenarios were also described in other articles in this issue...

Meanwhile over the Left Coast we are still waiting for Rose Marie and King of the Mounted and Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Mail to deliver our copy. :D

Up here we would have the SWAT team evacuating the building and the local NEWS blithering away about some military style machine pistol in the hands of a child with Family Services dragging the kid off to foster care.

Take Care

Bob

Great now everybody is going to show up with a "cast". ThePunisher will have to have a polymer one I bet.
