Recent R-PAL graduate, looking to start in the hobby

Hi all,

I recently got my R-PAL and a friend recommend I register on CGN.

Look forward to learning from members on this forum and getting some advice on purchasing my first firearms.

At the moment, I am considering the following:
1. Handgun (Glock or P226)
2. Daniel Defense DD5V1/2
3..308 bolt action hunting rifle

Hello and welcome to the forums Kan enjoy browsing around, there are lots of opinions on what one should buy just need to find the one that's right for you
 
Welcome. Lots of good product to buy, various opinions but really boils down to fit or purpose, good luck on this addiction.
 
Go for the Sig 226. Glocks are like civics. They are reliable, cheap but are #### when you stack them up to a real gun

Also, any suggestions on how to go about selecting a rifle scope for a bolt action .308 hunting rifle?

I see you're in Ottawa. I may have a P226 up for grabs. It's the .22 classic, but I have a .40SW kit with it :)

You can train with the cheaper .22 rounds, and 'graduate' to the centerfire later on without buying a new gun.

PM me if you want to handle/dryfire it.
