I thought Ambi slide release for the P99's were only available in Europe....

I phoned P&D and Emailed Frontier. The P99 they have are the ambi slide release versions. On the German Walther site, the P99 shown is the ambi slide release version, most US ones are the more slim single slide release version.

Good to know thanks, I'm right handed and my brother shoots left so having a good ambi pistol we both could use at the range is what I'm looking for

I found out because of our barrel restriction we get our Walthers straight from Germany, so they all come with ambi slide lock/release. Now Im not sure if this is true or not but I thought maybe that would help you out.
