Rechamber question?

I just got my hands on an unused 308 SPS tactical barrel and was wondering if there's enough meat to cut the existing chamber off and then it re-chambered for .300 blackout and fit to a Mossberg MVP?

Would need exterior barrel dimensions, 1" ahead of action and 2" ahead of action.

Doubtful. You'd end up with minimal contact between the bbl and the receiver front face. A 308 bbl will also be 1:12 twist which won't allow you to use heavy subsonics.

Bummer, I'd hoped to do it on the cheap without getting a full blank but I guess that's the way I'm headed. Thanks for your thoughts.

Might be doable as the mpv uses a barrel nut not a shoulder to hold the recoil lug in place.
