Rechambering

What are the costs involved in rechambering my 700P from .308 to 300wsm?It would include a rebarrel job to something like a krieger or gaillard 28inch straighttaper no7 barrel, and the addition of a muzzle break.

Approximately - boltface and extractor - $150; barrel, $400; fit and chamber $200; brake, installed $150. Make it feed, $?. These $ values are just suggestions, could be higher. While the rifle is torn down, you might want to get action work done, a better recoil lug, etc. Its going to go over a thousand.

Don't forget that along with the re-barrel/chambering costs, you will also have to open up the bolt face and alter the magazine/feed rails to accomadate the larger dia WSM shells.

You will also have to either have a sako extractor installed (not recommended) or have a remington extractor re-installed. Both solution involve machining of the bolt face.
